This Halloween season, the Downtown Alliance of Milwaukie (DAM) invited all downtown businesses to take part in our first-ever Halloween Storefront Decoration Contest!
A team of DAM volunteers toured downtown by foot, visiting every storefront — even those not typically open to the public — to see the spooky creativity our local businesses had to offer. The response was incredible! Some businesses went all-in with elaborate displays, while others joined in just for the fun and community spirit.
We had 20 participating businesses this year:
Milwaukie Dental Arts · Beer Store Milwaukie · B-Side Records & Vintage · Good Measure · Mama & Hapa's · That One Vintage Shop · Loverbird Tattoo · The Good & Evil Wrap Co. · Link Therapy · Enchanté Chocolatier · Milwaukie Lumber · Bridge City Beauty & Barber Co. · Compassion Family Dentistry · Dimitri Kondos State Farm · Kovac Law · Sewcial Studies · Hello Cafe · Main Street Collectors Mall · Cha Cha Cha · Foxy’s
Winner Announcement:
The winner will be announced during Trick-or-Treat on Main Street on October 25th, 2025 1-4PM, with a special presentation by a Milwaukie City Council Member. The winning business will receive a custom DAM trophy and a $250 prize!
Why We Hosted the Contest
The goal of the contest was to bring fun, festivity, and togetherness to Downtown Milwaukie — giving locals something to enjoy as they stroll the streets, grab a coffee, browse the shops, or dine out during the final weekends of the Farmers Market.
It’s been heartwarming to see the creativity, unity, and community pride that came from this event. Even some unexpected participants like Foxy’s and Kovac Law got into the Halloween spirit, proving that the Milwaukie magic is alive and well!
And while Made in Milwaukie missed the entry deadline, we couldn’t resist giving them an honorable mention for their storewide Halloween costume — an iconic costume.
